Men often face societal pressure and expectations to hide their vulnerabilities creating a dissociation from their emotions. Suppressing emotional expression leads so many men to conceal their traumas and struggles, which only perpetuates trauma.

Emotional suppression deeply affects men’s mental and emotional well-being, contributing to more chronic pain, trauma, stress, emotional dysregulation and illness.

Emotional destitution is also referred to as a wounded inner child.

By diving into and confronting our wounded inner child, we as men can acknowledge the parts of us that are wounded, didn’t receive love and need to feel grief. When we allow ourselves to grieve for and connect with our wounded inner child, we can nurture these parts of ourselves that are often the root cause of so many imbalances we experience as adult men.

When we heal our inner child we are able to release these belief systems that keep us stuck in pain.
